So it is simple to apply your preferred color denoising technique. darktable allows you to apply arbitrary actions by default. AFAIK LR applies (quite heavy) color noise reduction by default. Regarding (color) noise: Note, that darktable does not apply any denoising by default. In case of noisy images I found that the Frequency Domain Chroma algorithm produces slightly more pleasing appearance of the noise. Markesteijn 3pass is the best choice IMHO for general purpose and it comes with an opencl implementation. There are basically 3 algorithms for demosaicing you can choose from. I do see a bit more color noise but that can be remedied in Lightroom as a tiff file after darktable export.įirst of all, I don't think that there is any relevant difference between the processing of Xtrans III, II or I. Does anyone have a basic work flow for using darktable and fuji x-trans III Raf files? I have been playing with darktable a bit these past few days and it seems as if the demosaic process offers a bit more detail than with that of Lightroom.
